Role Responsibilities

Primary: 1. The description of the managed cloud service.

  • manage, curate, advocate: process and tools and patterns that support the service.

There are four possible consumers of this work: 1. delivery staff 2. operations staff 3. clients 4. management

  • Manage and Maintain the features and capabilities backlog
    • supporting processes
    • supporting patterns
    • staff capabilities footprint
    • tools capabilities footprint
  • Manage and maintain request for features and capabilities
  • Engage practice stakeholders (in no particular order):
    • Clients
    • Delivery staff
    • Support staff
    • Solution Architects
    • Management
  • understand and stay informed about Supported Technologies
  • Supported Activities
  • Define Responsibilities
  • Document, train, communicate, socialize, influence culture.

2. Manage the standard processes related to the service:

  • Coordinate stakeholders to ensure that everyone is as happy as possible.
  • Document the processes.
  • Measurement and Quality Control of processes.
  • Change the process as required.

3. Support Operations

  • Process and Development Training
  • Technical expertise and escalation when possible
  • Take input about operational learning and fold it back into the product.
  • Problem Management

There are 4 critical objectives for this role:

1. Service Delivery Excellence

The practice lead will be responsible for defining and managing service delivery standards to ensure that our clients’ experiences are of the highest quality and consistency. The practice lead will play a key role in the envisioning and development of new service offerings that align with our current go to market strategy. Help to Define the service. Maintain supprting processes and documentation related to the service.

2. Leadership

The practice lead will bring a combination of hands-on experience, expert-level accreditation and a demonstrable passion for IT services. As an internal and external ambassador of the practice, the practice lead will help to build and nurture community through education and evangelize the possibilities of the service.

3. Mentorship

The practice lead will invest in and be accountable for mentoring team members

4. Growth

The practice lead will have a shared responsibility for the growth of the overall practice

As an ideal candidate you will have:

  • AWS Certifications: 2 X Associate + 1 X Professional
  • 1 Azure Certification
  • 1 Google Cloud Platform Certification
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in ITSM, previous practice lead experience an asset.
  • Demonstrable experience architecting and implementing AWS solutions
  • Ability to Work well in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Passionate and creative problem solver
  • Action oriented
  • Comfortable in front of an audience, with or without a presentation, with or without a whiteboard.

Responsibilities II

Your role will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Help the organizations achieve results and measurably improve their organizational performance with respect to the Managed Cloud Services Offering.
  • Develop, maintain, and expand positive and trusting client relationships for the purpose of ensuring

the business is positioned to provide outcome‐based services and grow our business opportunities within the client organization and across client organizational components.  

  • Identify, lead, and/or participate in business development. Provide thought leadership in the capture and retention of intellectual capital associated with the business's service offering.
  • Supervise project managers and staff.  
  • Provide thought leadership in service and business areas.  
  • Provide direction and guidance to staff and clients on “best” approaches, decisions, and quality outcomes.
