Notes and considerations

  • I took a pile of sage from the garden , blended it, and then centrifuged it.
  • this results in a nice oily layer that I could remove.
  • I took some of this oil and stored it. It went rancid and mold in 48 hours , in a closed jar.
  • I took some of this oil and put it in vegetable oil. The oil turned green and it's still "fine" (no rancid smell , no fugus ) months later. Distinctive vegetable smell.
  • I've picked up a bottle of pure Vitamin E in hopes I can use that to keep the oil from going bad. It's just a guess. You can get a pure vitamin E from the cosmetics counter.
