things I need help with
- 2. Team Player
- Demonstrates a positive attitude by being upbeat, constructive and helpful"
- See † below. Maybe drugs can help me with this.
- 3. Communications
- Uses consideration and tact when presenting their own views.
- I think that "consideration and tact" is about putting yourself in the shoes of the person you are talking to and understanding their perspective. I have trouble with this. Few are able to help me with it.
- 4. Customer Focus/Service
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect
- often my perspective differ's from management's about how to do this. for example I believe in brutal transparency / truth. Management , not so much.
- 5. Integrity & Trust
- Can be counted on to handle things competently and professionally
- I feel like the only I have with handling things professionally is that I won't lie, or omit the truth. Too bad for me eh?
Commentary
I like this system it's one of the best I've seen. A dirrect link between company values and things you should do to get recognized.
Some of the line items are a bit hokey. for example:
- 2. Team Player
- Demonstrates a positive attitude by being upbeat, constructive and helpful"
- this can be tough with depression and several chornically broken systems. ( for example planning, budgeting, and communication, all out side the remit of line staff such as myself. †)
† - that said I really think that even though one might be a line staff memeber , a great challenge is to see if you can influence the business. Which I think is possibly, just not via explicit remit.
