Scale

1/72 = I like this scale for planes

Tools

  • Air brush - needed / iwsh list
  • Panel liners

Techniques

  • Think about what to glue on and paint, versus what to pain _then_ glue on.
  • Clean the model before primer
  • Using black primber for shadow and highlist hwith whie, then apply basecode of colour

Process

planes

  • cockpit
  • landing gear
  • assembly
  • putty
  • filing, sanding
  • redo panel lines
  • black primer, white highlights

Tanks

  • lower hull and suspension
  • upper hull
  • tracks
  • wood handles on tools: light sand, washes of brown for grain.
  • black primer, white highlights

Weathering

1. light matt clear to cover base paint job

2. ragged sponge with very little paint, dabbing around edgers and high ares, hinges , etc.

3. light layer of mineral spirits

4. while still wet: oils on places where rust might happen.

Colours:

  • Rust
  • burnt/raw sienna
  • burt/raw umber
  • "Streaking grime"

light treatment, then once over with dry brush
