The Information Age

"Complexity is being used as a weapon against democratic control over the economy. Derivatives were so complicated that lawmakers couldn't legislate against them."

Gee, haven't seen anything like that before:

  1. Business men
  2. Doctors
  3. IT guys
  4. The church

It’s been going on for a long time.

So now anyone can.

Normally when someone says: No but this era is special I roll my eye and ask them how much history they studied. Here's the thing... we live in the information age. How many thousands of years of human development have been intrinsically shaped by the control of information? At this time information of various form is flowing from place to place in ways it never did between all sorts of people. There is great potential for a breakthrough in human development. Potential. It’s no guaranteed. There are many pitfalls.

The economy is built on the foundation that my value based on something I know that you don’t.
