  • considering getting rid of what I think is a Prunus Cerasifera (often called purple-leaf plum).

Planter

Considering enlarging the garden, need to consider racoons and squirrels.

  • Lettuce
  • Cherry Tomato
  • Bean
  • A Row of Zucchini
  • Another row of Cherry Tomato
  • A Row of Zucchini
  • Snap Peas
  • Tomato + Potato
  • Pumpkin
  • Pepper

Lessons taught from this year: put the Zucchini on the end so it can "over flow, without shading plants nearby.

Lessons Learned this year: pinch the armpits of the tomato, this keeps the tomatoes from getting to leggy, it limits grow , but ensures that tomatoes that do grow , grow well. And I have no shortage of flowers ( as of july ).

Potted Basil is growing like gang-busters from last year's seed.

2013 Season

  • Half Cherry Tomatoes / Half Plum Tomatoes
    • Did much more nipping of flowers and get better results, could nip more flowers.
  • Kale
  • Strawberry - Lots of fruit for one plant, could do more.
  • cauliflower - let it go to see, need to harvest sooner.
  • snap peas - Need to figure out how to get better yield here. Few plants were productive.
  • Pumpkin / Squash and pumpkin squash
    • Good Growth
    • Good crop
    • Took WAY too much ground cover. left the raised box , covered the lawn. Poor lawn.
    • Next year: Grow up, sturdy trellis needed.
  • Habenero peppers
    • Three plants,
    • great yield
    • good flavour
    • great heat
    • Great colour , brilliant orange.
    • Some fruit at end of year were still green, some ripened, but many stayed green.
  • Sage
    • Good crop
  • Eggplant
    • Good crop, some grew to good size,
    • Many didn't get big, Colour was purple but I felt like they were green.

2019 Season

did lots of small tomatoesand then failed to harvest them properly and ended up with a lot of rotten tomatoes on the vine.

I did do some pinching of buds and flowers and that seem to help have better bunch of ripe tomatoes, but I really didn't give the garden that much love this year.

I also did curly kale and got a good harvest from that, using it for cabbage salad and stir fries. But I did get , towards the end of the season a very bad case of aphids or mites or something.

Notably one of the patches I did not plant at all but instead let grow what ever. I eneded up with a fantastic bed of corriander, thyme, sunflower, and a little dill.

This year there was no garlic, but I'm ready for garlic next season. It's not in the ground yet, but should be soon David (talk) 00:35, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
